Anger Management Vs. Anger Avoidance

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

The phrase “Anger Management” is a misnomer. The goal in every situation should be to avoid anger. Once a person lets anger into their mind and body they either have to repress/ squelch the anger or act on it. Both options are harmful to self and others. There is far too much emphasis placed on managing anger which leaves the notion of avoiding it all together as a side note at best. ACCI’s cognitive lifeskills curriculum teaches important concepts and skills to successfully avoid anger. View our Anger Management Workbook. Which of the two approaches has worked best for you?
